With the release of CapMon version 9.1.3, we have changed the way we perform Configuration backup of network equipment.

In previous releases we only used Telnet & SSH to perform the backup. From version 9.1.3, CapMon also supports the TFTP and SCP protocols to perform the backup of network equipment. This ensures that even the newest products from both Cisco and HP are supported by CapMon’s configuration backup.

We recommend that you upgrade to version 9.1.3, if you are using CapMon’s Configuration backup, especially if you have Cisco ASA firewalls in your network infrastructure or if you have VLAN configured in your switched network equipment.

A new feature in version 9.1.3, is the possibility to zoom directly in the graphs you are seeing on the screen, by using your mouse to mark / highlight the specific area you wish to investigate. Previously this was only possible, by using the time selector buttons in the menus on the statistics page.

CapMon Switch Port Mapper is an add-on tool that gives you the opportunity to view the status of your switched environment, in an easy to use interface.

CapMon's Switch Port Mapper gives you the overview of e.g. which ports are active, how long each port have been in a specific state, what type of equipment is connected to any given port and what VLAN's are configured for each port.

By using CDP, the Switch Port Mapper allows you to see what type of equipment, e.g. an IP telephone, is connected to a specific port.

The build-in calendar and filter function allows you, to easily select and filter on a variety of options, e.g. which ports have been "UP" since a specific date.
